I Actually Cooked For Christmas Part 3

Browned butter has become very popular these days.  I’ve seen several recipes that include it, especially pastries.  I thought about how I could incorporate browned butter in a recipe.  And I came up with an easy and tasty dish.

The recipe this week is Angel Hair Pasta with Browned Butter and Pecans.  What I like about this recipe is less is more.  Less ingredients, less time, less headache.  All you need is the pasta, butter, pecans and parsley.  Very simple!

I cooked 1/2 pound of pasta until al dente.  I drained it and returned it to the pot.  While the pasta was boiling, I began cooking the butter.  I carefully browned it, making sure not to overdo it.

I then tossed the butter and pecans in with the pasta.  Salt and pepper were added until I had it to my liking.  I topped it off with some chopped parsley.  It’s a light pasta dish (I say light, because the sauce isn’t heavy.  In no way is butter ‘light’.)  This is a dish I’d be willing to cook often because it was so easy to make.

Have you tried browned butter yet?
