It is no secret that I am an true lover of ice cream. And I really enjoy the numerous and delicious flavors of Blue Bell Ice Cream. But unfortunately, Blue Bell has had a recall on its ice cream products recently.
The recall of Blue Bell products was due to the discovery of a bacteria called Listeria. The company states that the bacteria can cause “symptoms such as high fever, severe headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea“, most of which are short-term. But there could also be more serious results from exposure to Listeria.
I commend Blue Bell for reacting immediately to this problem and being proactive in removing all of their products from supermarket shelves for testing. They are testing all products before shipping them from their creamery locations.
Although this is a serious issue, it is the first for the company in their 100+ years of production. That, in itself, shows that Blue Bell is serious about providing quality products to their customers. And I feel that that makes them a great company in my eyes.
Don’t fret Blue Bell. I’m not going anywhere. I just fell in love recently with your Milk and Cookies ice cream flavor. Whenever you get everything corrected, I’ll be right here waiting to purchase more of the great products that I love from you. Thanks for doing the right thing by your customers!
