Pumpkin Roundup 2018 #1: Drinks
It is officially fall, which means it is officially pumpkin season. That’s right, time for pumpkin everything. Pumpkin coffee, pumpkin cereal, pumpkin sandwiches, pumpkin pajamas. You name it!
It’s been some years since my last pumpkin roundup, so I decided to do another one this year. In my pumpkin roundup, I feature some very pumpkiny recipes. I showcase the recipes over a few week, listing them in different categories.
The first category is drinks. Now, I personally, can only consume pumpkin in a quick bread. No way else. But I thought that you all would like to explore pumpkin in all its forms, starting with something to quench your thirst.
Many people enjoy a pumpkin coffee or latte during the fall months. But, this recipe is a ‘cooler’ version. The recipe combines chilled coffee and pumpkin spice. And tops if off with whipped cream and pumpkin pie syrup. I didn’t even know that pumpkin pie syrup existed! Get the recipe over at Katies’ Cucina.
(Slow Cooker) Pumpkin Spice Apple Cider
Maybe a cool pumpkin drink is not what you’re looking for. Maybe it’s really fall where you’re located, and chilly outside. Unlike here in Texas. If a warm drink is what you need, House of Yumm has an easy slow cooker recipe. Not only does it provide that pumpkin spice fix, it has apple also! Lots of spice and apples are added to the pumpkin for this cozy drink. I’m thinking the addition of the apple would be tasty for me.
Naturally Sweetened Spiced Pumpkin
Recipes to Nourish provides a vegan, dairy-free option for a fall favorite. This chai tea gets a twist of pumpkin, while also being vegan. It has a nice helping of ginger, and is sweetened with honey. The addition of peppercorns help add the ‘spice’ to pumpkin spice.
