Welcome to my world!
I am a former high school Math teacher. I taught math for 6 years, primarily Algebra 1 and Algebra 2. I acquired a love for Math when I was in 8th grade. I was taking a Pre-Algebra class and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was then that I decided to teach math.
While attending school, I worked full-time in corporate America. This led me to steer away from my career goals. But I finally pushed myself and graduated college in 2007.
Teaching was not what I had hoped and dreamed that it would be. I felt like administration put too much focus on grades and standardized test scores, as opposed to ensuring that students were truly learning the content. To say the least, teaching became an unpleasant experience for me.
So I quit, and decided to start private tutoring. I started Transformations Math Tutoring. At this time, I am the only employee. 🙂 But I do plan to open my own tutoring facility in the future and hire other former teachers.
I enjoy tutoring one on one with students, because I can really give them the instruction that they need without the distractions of the classroom.
On this blog, I hope to share with you my love of math. I also want you to experience my adventures in food and fashion, two of my other favorite things. You will get an insight on all the things that I love and get excited about.
I hope you have as much fun on this adventure as I will. Thanks for visiting. Subscribe for updates. And feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, or suggestions.
